The AMMZ has been in existence for the past 48 years, and was formed in 1972 to advance the science and practice of Mining and supporting disciplines such as Survey, Geology, and Metallurgy. It is a vehicle for information exchange and dissemination on good practices and seeks to promote the study and growth of Mining and allied disciplines. The AMMZ is an affiliate of the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe
Here are our planned dates for the Annual General Meetings and Council meetings.
Council Meetings occur monthly and the AGM takes place once a year as per the name.
- Annual General Meeting - 19 November 2021
- Executice Council meetings - Last Friday of every month
The main agendas for the annual general meetings would be to follow up on the minutes from the previous meeting to see if the discussed things where done, to introduce a new Presidium and vote for new executive council.
The AGM and Conference are yearly events the AMMZ hosts.
Its meant to bring together over two hundred mine managers and executives who drive over 90% of the country’s mineral production. In addition, the conference will include captains of industry in the local and international mining landscape

The Association of Mine Maagers Zimbabwe have press releases they give to the public quarter annually.

The releases come out the first day of every quarter.

Our Executive council members
He has 15 years mining experience. He is currently Mining Manager at Tharisa Karo Platinum and Salene Chrome. He holds a Masters in Strategic Management from Herriot Watt University and Honours in Mining Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe.
He has over 14 years mining experience with different blue chip companies. Currently he is the Head of Mining for ZCDC. He holds an MBA and Honours in Mining engineering from the University of Zimbabwe.
responsible for PR, Membership and Events. Currently he is Head of Mining at R Davis. He holds an MBA and Honours in Mining from UZ. He is the Past President of the Association of Mine Managers Zimbabwe.
Eddington T Vere
PR, Finance and Admin
responsible for Special Projects. He has 12 years mining experience in the platinum sector. He is currently the Section Manager at Anglo Unki Platinum. He holds an Honours in Mining Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe.
TEchnology & Innovation
responsible for SHEQ and other affiliates. He has 10 years mining experience in the gold sector. Currently he is the Mine Manager for Freda Rebecca. He holds an MBA and Honours in Mining Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe.
responsible for finance and funding. He has 20 years experience in mining chemicals supply. Currently he is the Business Manager - Mining Chemicals for Acol. Ray holds a Bcom in Marketing Management, Diploma in General Management.
PR, Finance and Admin
responsible for Technical visits. He has 14 years open pit and underground mining experience. He is currently works as a Mine Manager for one of the Zimplats Ngezi underground mines. He holds a B Sc. Hons in Mining Engineering (UZ).
responsible for Finance and fund raising projects. He has 21 years mining experience. He is currently Mine Manager at Zimplats , Ngwarati mine. He holds a Masters in Business Management from the University of Gloustershire, a Diploma in mining from The Zimbabwe School of mines.
PR, Finance and Admin
responsible for Technical and Academic function. Over 20 years mining experience obtained from Rio Zim, Zimasco, Metallon and Zimplats. Mine Manager at Zimplats' Rukodzi mine. Holds an MBA and Honours degree in Mining Engineering.
He has over 25 years experience in the mining industry. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Mining Projects Evaluation from the Ecoles des Mines de Paris and a BSc (Geology and Chemistry).
Chamber of mines
30 years in the Mining industry encompassing senior operational, technical and production experience. He is a holder of a Bsc Honours Degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe.
responsible for Special Projects. National Coordinator for Mine Rescue Zimbabwe. 14 years mining experience with Pan African Mining. Currently Operations Manager at How Mine. Holds an MBA and Honours in Mining Engineering from UZ.
